Three members of Chestnut Hill Rotary received the Outstanding Rotarian award from Rotary International District 7450 Governor, Francy Cross on Thursday evening to a packed house at the Inn of Villanova.

For the event, dubbed Denim and Diamonds, members and guests were encouraged to dress casually in denim and wear Rotary bling. District Governor Francy's theme and platform this year is "Bee Kind," a nod of encouragement to treat each other with kindness and respect.
Among the 20 recipients, Chestnut Hill members, Denise Chapline and Maggie Stoeffel received the Outstanding Rotarian award for their service. The awards were based on Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self," leadership, innovation, mentorship, and community engagement,

Chapline, a long-time member, and has served many roles, often behind-the-scenes, including Board Secretary, Hospitality Committee, and running many fundraising events. Stoeffel has served as club President, Chestnut Hill Rotary Foundation President, and spent several years as Chair of the Community Services Committee, greatly improving community engagement.
Club President, Jay Pennie, received the "Hive" Leadership Award for exceptional leadership and teamwork in the club and Rotary District 7450. Pennie is also Chair of the Public Image Committee and serves on the District Public Image team and editor of the District Dispatch, a monthly digital publication for the SE Pennsylvania district.
