Two members received the prestigious District Governor's Award for outstanding service to Chestnut Hill Rotary and the SE PA area.
The awards were presented at the recent Breakfast Program meeting by Rotary International District Governor, Janice Biros. The first award was presented to Maggie Stoeffel, Co-Chair of the Community Service Committee.
"Rotary is powered not only by those who lead from the front, but also by those who consistently step forward whenever help is needed. Maggie Stoffel embodies that spirit," said Biros. "Whether supporting club service projects, community outreach efforts, or lending a hand to a family or organization in need, Maggie is always among the first to say 'yes.' Even when challenges arise or participation is hard to rally, her commitment never wavers. Today, we are proud to recognize her exceptional service, generosity, and dedication to the Chestnut Hill Rotary Club and the community we serve."

The second award was presented to Andy Sears, who serves as the club's Sergeant-at-arms. "Some people make things happen. Some people make things fun. Andy Sears does both," said Biros. As club Sergeant-at-Arms, Andy has transformed a weekly role into something that brings energy, laughter, and connection to our club."
Both Stoeffel and Sears served as club presidents in 2021-22 and 2022-23 respectively, and on the board of directors.
"Andy has helped us learn more about one another while strengthening the bonds of fellowship, said Biros. "He reminds us that service and friendship go hand in hand. It is my pleasure to recognize Andy Sears for his enthusiasm, creativity, and outstanding contributions to the spirit of Chestnut Hill Rotary."
Biros also installed the new Board leadership, which will be covered in next week's issue of the newsletter.
